Culture and Wellness

At the University of Washington’s Psychiatry Residency Program, resident wellness is a top priority. We recognize that the journey through residency is both challenging and rewarding, and we are committed to supporting our residents’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being. By fostering a supportive and nurturing environment, we ensure that our residents thrive not only as professionals but also as individuals.

2024 Annual Resident Retreat

Each year, our residents come together for the annual retreat—a unique opportunity for all classes to bond in a relaxed, fun environment. This year’s retreat took place at the beautiful Camp Casey on Whidbey Island, where residents participated in team-building activities like cup stacking and boat-building challenges, all while enjoying the scenic waterfront setting. The retreat fosters camaraderie and connection, making it a highlight of the residency experience!
